Forest Factory is an entanglement of flora and thorns, immaterial industries of receptive amplification, and the enhancement of forest force. A non-anthropocentric meeting of organic and inorganic matter, reversing the hierarchies of industrial demand. Forest Factory is powered by the voices and personalities that form a treecity, learning from the forest’s indifference to computational despair. Brandhi’s and Trobollowitsch’s anti-extractive attention technique seeks to eternalize the forest’s depth, through active listening and the transgression of leaf-speak into digitally transmittable frequencies and performable forms.
Elvin Brandhi is an improvising lyricist and beat producer, initiating projects with socio-aesthetic overflow. Herpractice includes performances, audio-essays, videos, sample-based beats, and theatrical public actions. Sheuses sound and image as an expansive, emotive language, questioning traditional systems. As the great-granddaughter of a Welsh herbalist, plants are a central theme in her work.
Andreas Trobollowitsch is an Austrian composer, sound performer, and artist. Using rotation, vibration, and feedback systems, he primarily works with modified everyday objects, prepared fans, and string instruments. In recent years, he has focused on conceptual compositions, self-developed musical instruments, and sound and drawing installations. Interested in the dichotomy between the intellectual and the physical, he incorporates visual aspects, spatiality, movement, and their relationship to sound.
