Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh
The interaction of live instrumentation with pre-recorded sound reflects upon the sonic and social experience of the area in which Ailbhe lives in Glasgow, and its proximity to BAE Systems, Britain’s largest arms manufacturer. She aims to create a performance that reflects both the subjective experience of this presence in her neighbourhood and the impact that its output has on the greater world. What is created here leads to destruction elsewhere.

Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh est une altiste qui explore les possibilités tonales des cordes en boyau et du bois dans des contextes amplifiés et acoustiques. Des amalgames d’influences de styles improvisés, traditionnels et de musique ancienne peuvent être entendus sur les enregistrements solo Oreing (Fort Evil Fruit 2017), The Rounds (KRUT 2021) et plus récemment Live At Sonic Acts (Scatter Archive 2023). Elle vit à Glasgow où elle joue dans le quartet free-improv Dome Riders avec Fritz Welch, Armin Sturm et MikeParr-Burman.
